Hi! I’m Ivy.
I am a licensed massage therapist, continuing education provider, and founder of FloridaMassage.com.
I remember the feeling of anxiety while dropping my Florida massage license application in the mail, wondering if everything was filled out correctly. A few months later, that feeling returned as I navigated the renewal requirements for the first time.
You may be here because you also feel confused, anxious, and are looking for guidance. This is why FloridaMassage.com was created!
We designed FloridaMassage.com to be a place where you can find the answers to all of your questions about Florida massage licensing and the renewal processes. We have invested countless hours of research and emails to the Board, digging for clarification so that you don’t have to wait for answers.
Licensing
Moving to Florida can be overwhelming. Over the years, we have put together guides and checklists to walk you through the entire process. Whether you are looking to semi-retire or beginning a new adventure in the Sunshine State, everything you need to know about getting your Florida massage license, you can find right here.

License Renewal
The name of the site is Floridamassage.com, so you shouldn’t have to wonder if our courses are approved by the Florida Board of Massage or if we report to CE Broker (we are and we do!). However, you may have other questions like:
- How many hours am I required for my first renewal?
- Do I need to take prevention of medical errors again?
These, and many other renewal questions, can be found on our license renewal page.
Massage Articles and Guides
From both our own experience and countless emails, we know there are a lot of massage therapists with special situations. Sometimes these questions cannot be fully answered in our licensing and renewal pages. A few examples:
- I never took an exam to get my current license, do I have to take an exam to get licensed?
- Do I need a massage establishment license if I travel to my clients?
- Can I have an establishment in my home?
- How do I transfer a license to Florida from California, New York, or Canada?
- Can I hold massage therapy licenses in multiple states?
We are constantly creating articles and guides to help you find the answers to your specific questions. You can learn more here.

Meet the Team
Ivy Hultquist, L.M.T. MA66325
Ivy is our Florida licensing and renewal expert. If you have a question about licensing and renewal requirements, she will be the one to assist you. Like you, she loves being a massage therapist.
She has been a licensed massage therapist since 2001. Since transferring her license to Florida in 2010, she has helped over 2000 massage therapists get licensed in Florida. In that time, she has also reported over 35,000 Florida continuing education course completions to CE Broker for license renewal (with a 4.9/5 feedback rating). She is much better at all of the above than she is at folding a fitted sheet.
Her Favorite Place in Florida
